Extended School Year Planning Ideas: Week 1 -Garden

Extended School Year Plan:

Are you working Extended School Year (ESY)? This is my third year working in my home district. I enjoy working ESY! I personally crave structure and perform better when I have a full schedule. ESY is a great medium–allowing me to maintain some structure and make time to relax and recover from the previous school year.

This year will be interesting as ESY will be held remotely due to persistent orders to social distance to prevent the spread of COVID-19. However, some SLPs have returned to in-person services. I have returned to in-person services for a few of my private practice clients and will see them through the summer. So, I am planning for both teletherapy and in-person friendly activities.

Current Caseload Composition: I work full-time in a pk-3 public elementary school and part-time at a private practice with children ages 2 to 18 years.

For the first week of Extended School Year, I will be using a Garden theme! Click the image below to download this week’s therapy planning guide with clickable links.

Are you working Extended School Year this year? What are you planning for the first week?

Thanks for reading!
